Terms and conditions
When you register with the OmaStadi service, you must consent to the processing of your personal data. After consenting, you can create, comment and vote on the proposals.
When you register for the service, we process the following personal data about you: your name, user name and email address.
When you log in to the OmaStadi service using strong authentication, we process the following personal data about you: your name, email address, place of residence, postal code and personal identity code.
Students are authenticated when they vote using the mPassID used by schools, in which case we process the following personal data: their first name, last name, nickname, municipality code, municipality name, school code, school name, class ID and grade level.
You can revoke your consent at any time and delete your data from your user account settings.

Responsibilities of the user
Your posts may be removed and edited by the administrator if they are deemed offensive or otherwise inappropriate.
Unauthorised use of another person’s name is prohibited. Everyone is responsible for the possible consequences of misusing another person’s name.
Users are responsible for their posts and content.
As a user, you agree to comply with good practices and the applicable legislation in the content you create and upload, such as texts, images, videos, other attachments and materials (hereinafter referred to as the ’Material’).
By uploading or otherwise adding Material to the service, you consent to the copyrighted Material being licensed under the Creative Commons license “Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International” (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). As a User, you warrant and represent that you have the right to add the Material to the service and that the Material or its addition to the service will not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others.
Conversation monitoring
The service is monitored mainly during office hours on weekdays. Comments are not pre-checked. You can report inappropriate messages using the Flag symbol and the Feedback link.
Service administrators have the right to hide and edit messages. The City of Helsinki reserves the right to use the messages posted on the service in other contexts. The City of Helsinki is not responsible for the content of posts.
Inappropriate and illegal messages
Messages on the service should follow good manners and be related to the topic in question. Messages will be hidden from public view if they are determined to be unlawful under Finnish law.
An unlawful message is one that, for example:
- defames another person
- disseminates another person’s personal information
- disseminate confidential information
- incites negativity or hostility against a particular group of people
- incites to criminal activity
Inappropriate messages or posts can be deleted or modified. Whether a message is inappropriate or irrelevant will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Inappropriate messages include, for example:
- messages that contain profanity or vulgar language
- messages that do not relate to the topic of the discussion or link to internet material that does not support the topic of the discussion
- messages that are not necessarily unlawful but are offensive to a person or group of persons
- messages that contain commercial messages
- messages that contain the personal or contact information of another individual
If the Material you have uploaded infringes copyrights or is otherwise unlawful or inappropriate, it will be hidden.
Content licensing
All copyrighted creative content added to the service by the user, such as texts, images, fonts, audio recordings and videos, is published under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 (External link) licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/deed.en (External link).

The City of Helsinki produces and maintains the online service. Feedback related to the online service can be provided through the Feedback link on each page.
