- When inputting data, input errors are not always addressed clearly enough. In addition, suggestions for correcting errors are not always provided. (WCAG 3.3.1, 3.3.3 and 4.1.3)
Navigation and structure
- There are no multiple ways to locate a web page within a set of web pages. (WCAG 2.4.5)
- Navigation links have not always been named consistently. Some links that lead to same location have different names. (WCAG 3.2.4)
- Navigational elements are not repeated consistently on every page, as the breadcrumb trail has been omitted on some pages. (WCAG 3.2.3)
- There is no information to the screen reader if the mobile navigation menu is open or closed. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- The programmatical name of the logo link does not match the visible text. (WCAG 2.5.3)
- The name and role of the user menu is not always read correctly by the screen reader. (WCAG 1.3.1)
Using the service
- The page titles in the service are not always descriptive. (WCAG 2.4.2)
- The keyboard focus indicator is not always visible. (WCAG 2.4.7)
- There are some links with a visual indicator of the current page, but the information of which page is current is not announced to screen readers. (WCAG 4.1.2)
- There is a button for denying to make one’s profile public. The programmatical name and the visible label of the button do not match each other. Therefore, the button does not necessarily work with speech recognition software and is unclear for screen reader users. (WCAG 2.5.3)
- A keyboard user is not able to change their profile picture as the loading function of the profile picture cannot be focused with keyboard. (WCAG 2.1.1)
- There are some form fields whose visible label has not been associated to the field. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- In some situations, a screen reader user is not informed enough about changes that occur on the page. (WCAG 4.1.3)
- There is a path in the service that tells the user about the current phase in the OmaStadi process. The current phase is only addressed visually but not announced by screen reader. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- There are summarized views about the suggestions. All the text content of the views is not readable by screen reader but the same information is available for screen reader in the detailed information of each suggestion. In addition, the screen reader can find some extra texts that are not visible. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- There are some texts that look like headings but have not been programmatically marked as such. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- There are carousels on the front page of the service where a user can browse current topics and suggestions. The links of the carousels are not understandable for screen readers. In addition, the screen reader does not read all the text content of the carousels. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.4)
- There are some images in the service that do not have alternative text or have not been marked as decorative, or their alternative text is not descriptive enough. (WCAG 1.1.1)
- There are some statistics of the regions but not all the data is accessible for screen reader. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- There are some tooltips in the service that can be exposed by pointing with a mouse but not by focusing with keyboard. (WCAG 2.1.1)
- There are single buttons, links and menu items in which the colour contrasts of the texts are insufficient. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- The HTML code of the website does not fully meet the specification. (WCAG 4.1.1)
An effort will be made to correct the shortcomings listed in this statement by 31 December 2023.
